My Advice to Libertarians: Relax

Radicals of all political persuasions try to impose on people a degree of certainty that reality will not accomodate. The voters know this. They are skeptical of politicians who claim that there is a final solution to the problem of human disagreement. People who favor revolution must necessarily believe in such a final solution. And the voters will reject them.

You're making far too much sense. Really you better stop before the Radicals' heads figuratively explode.

There is no "final solution" to human disagreement outside of the end of humanity as a whole.

However, we can agree on the basic idea that the answer to most problems is more freedom instead of more government control.

This isn't an either/or debate though. Total government is just as bad as no government at all.

The disagreement is about how much government should there be, and what should their role be? That's where you have some who believe that the role of government is to protect the rights of the people, and that's it; and others who believe that the government should take care of all their needs and wants from cradle-to-grave.
